May 27th to July 10th - Gone to the Dogs. A fun exhibition celebrating everything canine. Open weekend 27th & 28th May, all welcome and we'd love you to bring your dogs. Fizz and Bonios all weekend...
July 15th & 16th - Open weekend to launch our summer exhibition. Join us for a glass of Pimm's and view a collection of new work from gallery artists. Continues until September 4th.

February 1st to March 14th - mixed show of work by our gallery artists. Our Featured Artist during this time is glass maker Stuart Akroyd.
March 19th to April 25th - Spring at the Gallery. A collection of bright new work from gallery artists and new artists too. Private View Friday March 18th, 6-9pm.
April 30th to July 18th - The Lie of the Land. Exhibition featuring three artists with a love of landscape: Cliff Howe, Paul Fowler and Clare Winchester. Private View Friday 29th, 6-9pm.
July 23rd & 24th - Open weekend to launch our summer exhibition. Join us for a glass of Pimm's and view a collection of new work from gallery artists. Continues until September 19th.
1st October - 14th November - All About Print. Exhibition and demonstrations of original printmaking from etchings to wood engravings, collagraphs to linocuts. Private View Friday 30th September, 6-9pm. Click here for dates and times of demonstrations.

March 6th to April 13th - Spring Exhibition. Bright new work from artists including Dani Humberstone, Annie Soudain, Anna Wilson-Patterson, Julia Ogden, Melvyn Evans and Jane Gray. Private view Thursday 5th March, 6.30-9pm.
May - Our Featured Artist for May is Joel Arnstein. Bold and colourful still life, abstract and figurative paintings. We also highlight the work of wood engraver Sue Scullard to tie in with a fantastic article in this month's Country Homes & Interiors magazine.
June 6th to 13th July - 'Existing Light'. An exhibition of photographic work featuring Marek Emczek Olszewski, Julian Anderson and George Rodger. Private View Friday 5th June, 6.30-9pm.
July 25th & 26th - Open Weekend to launch our summer Exhibition. New paintings and prints from Cliff Howe, Clare Winchester, Ros Rowan, Melvyn Evans, Anna Wilson-Patterson, Ali Stump, Hannah Ludnow, Hugh Ribbans, Annie Soudain and Emily Smith-Polyblank. Plus new ceramics and sculpture from Jeff Soan, Jane Richardson, Sarah Nicol, Jane Bridger, Alison Ogden, Ros Ingram, Ken Eardley and Emily Stone (oh, have we got a sculpture from Emily...) Continues until September 7th.
September 11th to October 12th - 'Colour Dance'. One woman show featuring painter Karen Birchwood. Private view Thursday 10th September 6.30-9pm.
October 17th to November 9th - Following the publication of 'The Artful Hare' earlier this year, we are delighted to be hosting an exhibition of the same name in association with Mascot Media. A wide variety of beautiful hare images on display from a range of renowned painters, printmakers and ceramicists. Private view Friday 16th October 6.30-9pm.

April 16th onwards... Artist Jane Ford's 'Drawing & Painting for the Terrified (and not so terrified)' Art classes with Jane at the Smarden Charter Hall every Tuesday 9.30-11.30am and 1-3pm. Classes now full, new date to be announced soon.
May 31st to June 24th - AVA at the Gallery. Exhibition featuring work by 16 members of the Ashford Visual Artists. Jennifer Hedley, Olga van Dijke, Carol Stump, Vicky Brand, Dominique Morgan, Anne O'Driscol, Harriet Gifford, Tammy Clark, David Hover, David Carnegie, Vikky Furse, Jane Richardson, Sandra Boys, Kaidy Lewis, Mary Sampson and Dizzy Pragnall.

Smarden Open Gardens, 22nd & 23rd June, 2-6pm. 10 great gardens and various attractions including classic cars, organ recital, plant and produce stalls, teas and homemade cakes etc. Tickets available at the gallery.
3rd August - 9th September - 'Wish You Were Here.' Our Summer exhibition launches with an open weekend 3rd & 4th August. Drop in for a glass of Pimm's and see some great new work by artists including Cliff Howe, Kaija Bulbrook, Vikky Furse, Hannah Ludnow, Helen Hunt, Katie Brinsley, Hugh Ribbans, Melvyn Evans, Lesley Luther, Julia Ogden and Annie Soudain. Artist Jane Ford will be here on Saturday 3rd from 11am-3pm demonstrating painting in oils. Show then continues until Monday 9th September.
September 20th - October 14th - 'George Rodger: Smarden & Beyond.' This special exhibition will feature iconic photographs by Magnum Photos co-founder George Rodger. It will include images of Smarden, where he lived for over 40 years, the Blitz and Africa. As well as the main exhibition there will be other work to view, including some beautiful watercolours of Smarden and the surrounding area by artist Polly Furse. Private view Thursday 19th September, 6.30-9pm.
October 18th - November 11th - Kent Potters Association Annual Exhibition. Exciting contemporary ceramics from 34 potters on display. Private view Thursday 17th October, 6-9pm.
November 16th & 17th - Christmas Open Weekend. Lots of new work, gift ideas and festive refreshments. Show then continues until Christmas Eve at 2pm.

Monday 27th February - Time for a Cuppa. We are delighted to be hosting this special day on behalf of Dementia UK. Time for a Cuppa is a nationwide annual fundraising event supporting the development of the Admiral Nurse Service, specialist dementia nurses offering support to people affected by dementia and their families.
Please do come along between 10am and 6pm and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a cake and support this wonderful cause. www.timeforacuppa.org.

August 2nd to September 10th - Summery mixed show. Artists include Anna Wilson-Patterson, Hugh Ribbans, Sarah-Jane Brown, Lucy Harding, Lee O'Connor.
September 14th to October 15th - Graham Clarke and Neville Langley 'Back Home' (or as we like to call it, 'Two Old Geezers at the Gallery...') Private view Thursday 13th September, 6.30-9pm. Show celebrates the close friendship between Graham and Neville spanning more than 30 years. Graham will be showing new watercolours and drawings, together with his best known arch-topped etchings and books. We are especially fortunate to have a series of original watercolours from the book 'Graham Clarke's Kent' which are for sale for the first time. Neville will be showing his pottery with its distinctly sculptural quality influenced by his abiding interest in archaelogy. Also journals, watercolours and books.
We will also be hosting a book signing day with both artists on September 30th, 11am to 4pm. Music and refreshments provided...
