West End House Gallery Location

The gallery is open for viewing:

10am - 6pm Thursdays to Sundays and most public holidays.

Smarden Village is about 1.5 hours drive southeast from London.

Take the M20 towards Ashford, and turn off at junction 8 driving passed Leeds before taking the A274 towards Tenderden,

or

at junction 9 at Ashford take the A28 and turn off at the Bull Inn, then follow signs to Smarden.

The nearest railway station is at Headcorm, only 10 minutes drive from Smarden. There is a taxi rank at the station.

Smarden and its environs have over 200 houses of historic or architectural interest. Orginally the village grocery and haberdashery shop, West End House Gallery sits between the Church and the 14^th century Chequers pub which provides food and accommodation. Meals are also available at the nearby Flying Horse and Bell Inn.

Within a 5-mile radius of Smarden are

• Deering Wood which has magnificent carpets of anemones in April
• Biddenden and Harbourne vineyards
• Sissinghurst Castle gardens
• Lashenden Air Museum
